Description: Members of the Wodaabe tribe in brightly-hued garments and facial paint at the Gerewol Festival, in Chad, Central Africa. At the end of the rainy season in September, Wodaabe clans gather in several traditional locations before the beginning of their dry season transhumance migration. Here young Wodaabe men, with elaborate make-up, feathers, and other adornments, perform the Yaake: dances and songs to impress marriageable women.
Artist Bio: Award-winning Irish photographer Trevor Cole has spent his career traversing continents, capturing breathtaking imagery that conveys the beauty and diversity of our world, whilst simultaneously expressing the need for a more sustainable global outlook. Trevor Cole was a competition finalist of the 2020 Travel Award and selected as editors' picks on several occasions.
