The transient nature of astrophotography is such that when you have that specific set of conditions, you have to the most of them. This shot is a prime example of that, a last minute trip to give me a hit of starry skies, despite the near freezing temperatures and a lack of sleep trying to convince me otherwise. I came home stoked with what I had captured. The idea that we are a minuscule part of this cosmos, and yet have the power to affect everything around us. Standing on sand dunes knowing one kick can cause a landslide of sand, but looking up to see a billion stars revolving in the sky.
This collection is a set of 6 1/1 shots taken over the past few years showcasing my passion that is astrophotography.
Capturing nightscapes is an experience unto itself. Standing out in the middle of nowhere, on your own under a cloudless sky is the definition of peace in my mind. It is my getaway to respite from the world. An opportunity to reset and let my mind free to breath and dream. Pricing of these works ha e determined by the time and effort needed for each shot, with the higher priced items required more planning, travel time and post-processing to produce each shot. All shots were taken in the North Island of New Zealand, and 10% of the sales at sell out will be going to local conservation charities to help preserve these amazing locations for years to come. Alongside this, a print raffle will be held Collection by Yusuf Qureshi, all photos are under Editorial Licencing.
