Hidden in the corner of a Savannah greenhouse, this little orchid seemed almost left behind. Combined with the exotic shades of purple, the winged blooms made me think of Cio Cio San from Madame Butterfly.
One of my favorite operas, it is the musical embodiment of unrequited love. This seed poem imagines the great Maria Callas as the singer of Puccini’s leading role.
