his work is made up of the Letter Painting of Filial Piety and Brotherly Love on top of the Chinese Qing Dynasty snuff bottle. The Letter Painting of Filial Piety and Brotherly Love uses eight letters that mean filial duty, brotherly love, loyalty, faith, manners, honor, integrity, conscience to express the ethics of Joseon which was a Confucian society. The Chinese snuff bottle represents the extravagance of the Qing era. It can be likened to a sports car or a high-end watch in today’s world. Through this work, I wanted to show how the gap between ethical ideology emphasizes morality and human nature that follows. This work is the first edition of ‘manners’ which is the part of the Letter Painting of Filial Piety and Brotherly Love.
