Lost in Thought #24

Lake Tahoe Nevada, April 2020

Edition: 1/1

This image is from one of my favorite perches over Lake Tahoe's east shore. I love the views from here, but what makes this spot extra special to me, is that it's somewhat hidden. To get to it, you have to veer pretty far off of a well-known trail.

I take a lot of self-portraits in my photography. Both for scale and to take the viewer along with me. I wanted to include this particular self-portrait in the collection because it somewhat represents how I feel much of the time. Which is often isolated and alone, in a beautiful place, but I guess that choice was mine to make.

A Connection To Lake Tahoe collection image

From the moment I first laid eyes on Lake Tahoe, I felt a powerful connection to it. So much so that I would enthusiastically drive the 7 hours from LA several times a year just to photograph it! Tahoe had become my favorite source of inspiration, and I started to wonder what it would be like to live there.

So one day, after living in LA for six years, I decided it was time to take a chance on a new adventure. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing a soul, I had only planned to stay for four months. I never would've imagined that two and a half years later, I'd still be living here, feeling as inspired as ever. 💙

Each piece in this collection represents a moment in Lake Tahoe that I found to be especially beautiful and out of the ordinary. The collection is also an ode to following your heart down an exciting path unknown.
