Phenomenon
Lake Tahoe California, October 2021
Edition: 1/1
Every once in a while, a rare phenomenon happens. And if you're lucky, you happen to be there- with your camera!
The day I took this photo, I remember waking up and noticing that something unusual was going on. There was a good deal of low-hanging fog in the air, which isn't the norm in Lake Tahoe. I had a hunch it was an inversion, so I grabbed my camera, rushed out the door (still in my pajamas), and headed straight for Emerald Bay. When I got there, I was greeted with a stunning inversion over Lake Tahoe.
This photo is particularly special to me because it shows a rare and very unique moment at one of the most photographed spots in Lake Tahoe.
From the moment I first laid eyes on Lake Tahoe, I felt a powerful connection to it. So much so that I would enthusiastically drive the 7 hours from LA several times a year just to photograph it! Tahoe had become my favorite source of inspiration, and I started to wonder what it would be like to live there.
So one day, after living in LA for six years, I decided it was time to take a chance on a new adventure. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing a soul, I had only planned to stay for four months. I never would've imagined that two and a half years later, I'd still be living here, feeling as inspired as ever. 💙
Each piece in this collection represents a moment in Lake Tahoe that I found to be especially beautiful and out of the ordinary. The collection is also an ode to following your heart down an exciting path unknown.
