Dante is an intergalactic gangster of renown. He's made his way up the ranks through sheer power and force and is feared throughout the interplanetary system. He doesn't take no for an answer and makes sure his presence is felt and remembered. At the peak of his power cartel gets into a war with the Stellar-Squadron, run by Dirk's father, Dominic, and comrade, Pogum. Their forces are overwhelmed by Dante's troops, and as a last-ditch effort, Pogum bestows the NSB (Non-Scalar Device) to Dirk to keep from Dante. Now, Dante's sole mission in life is to find Dirk and retrieve the NSB.

Dirk hires a mishappen group to lead through fantastic space-adventures while holding on to a secret that could doom them all. But, when he finds solidarity with his unlikely comrades, he's forced to resolve his actions before a gangster named Dante exacts his revenge."
