A love letter to the NFT community. Represented are the mediums of AI, digital illustration, 3D, traditional painting, collage, and photography, as well as poetry (via description) and music (via an unlockable track by @akininaj). Across mediums, cultures, languages, we come together in this movement. From all rainstorms, streams, and rivers, we become the same sea.
blooming in rich technicolor lush carpet beneath maidens feet patterns in a living garden faces to the sun, we meet
Additional notes and context:
As with all my portraiture, a small percentage of my face is trained into the GAN. In this way, a bit of me is sealed inside each piece.
Collaged Image Attribution: "Renaissance pattern from L'Ornament Polychrome (1888) by Albert Racinet," licensed by Rawpixel under CCO.
Context for my choice of collaged image: Albert Racinet was a French artist that travelled the earth to illustrate the masterworks of decorative arts across a wide array of mediums, both to celebrate cultural achievement and inspire new crossovers in his modern age. This felt, to me, like an appropriate choice for a piece that stands in adoration of the varied and collaborative artistic efforts of this community, across many nations, cultures, and walks of life.
In this instance, the illustration is of a series of fine plates, the centerpiece of which is the 16th century "Temperance Dish" by Francois Briot. Briot was a silversmith and medalist, Master of the Mint of Count Frederic in Montbeliard, and is considered the greatest pewter potter of all time. Briot's original Temperance Dish is on permanent display in the Louvre.
