“Lost job, severed income, career in tatters, unable to pay rent, forced to move back into parents’ house, I leave my home in this city where I discovered myself and the person who accepted me as I am.”

“Illusory World” is a collection of collages created by SV during the deadly second wave of coronavirus pandemic in India which saw patients dying on the roads while waiting in queues for hospital beds/oxygen and dead bodies floating in rivers as crematoriums were filled to capacity.

Each work talks about a “trivial” personal deprivation or apocalyptic musing by the artist as he battles survivor’s guilt in the face of unspeakable human tragedy unfolding around him. The title of this series is a feeble attempt by him to self-soothe through a belief in the illusory nature of this world despite the piercing physicality of its details.

Each 1/1 digital artwork features a physical sculptural object that is handmade by SV, moulded from concrete in waste plastic and cardboard. This object will be physically shipped to the collector (shipping charges included in the price).
