There will be 1001 use-cases for AR. One of them is gaming. And there will be 1001 formats for AR games, this is one of them.
Faceflipper is a creation by AR artist @SNDRV who has been exploring augmented reality art since 2010. The effect is part of "Gamify yourself", which will be a set of five NFT facefilter games which are designed based on one specific condition: instead of using the head detection to turn the player into a substitute mouse or gamepad controlling another game element, in these facefilter games the player is an integral part of the gameplay.
The effect is currently available on the Snap AR ecosystem. It can be experienced in the Snapchat app but it can also be activated during Teams/Zoom sessions with the Snap Camera app. Info and instructions here: sndrv.com/nft
If the effect, or the platform on which it resides ceases to exist, then the artist will be available to port the effect to a new platform, to be covered by fees from subsequent sales.
We will all be living in a personalized mixed reality world, when AR glasses will become mainstream. But these days during our Zoom and Teams meetings, we're already taking a peek into that future. Tweaking our semi-digital selves with digital enhancements. This set of AR NFTs will be expanded to 5 items.
