On the remote west fjords and after a long drive we arrived at Djúpavík, a small village settled in early 1917 built around a herring salting factory. This village was featured on the Heimma documentary by Sigur Rós and it was what drew as there. It was worth it since the drive was magnificent, and the landscape around the village was serene and beautiful.
