2021 An NFT-Space Odyssey is a 31 piece collection celebrating photographer Hans Kemp’s (aka lightchronicler) 3 months presence in the NFT realm.
Going through my hard drives I stumbled upon a little story I photographed 15 years ago.
Seeing those images again it struck me how, in a playful manner, they were an apt metaphor for my, and our, journey into the NFT space. The excitement, the FUD, the FOMO, the beauty.
With due respect to the masterful Kubrick movie, I went from a complete novice, rather intimidated by the power of NFTs - not unlike the apes reaction to the black megalith appearing in the movie - to being able to somewhat intelligently communicate about it and participate in it.
The macaques eventually figure out that all the good stuff embedded in the icy megaliths will reveal itself through the power of the sun, the ultimate light source.
Will we be floating freely in and out of a meta-verse of our making, powered by the light, or will the last words we hear be “I’m afraid I can’t do that Ser”? It’s up to us. LFG!
P.S. My journey truly started on July 31, 2021, this is my 31 piece celebratory collection.
