Fragmentation Process 10 (5/26/2021, R code). This piece is part of twenty selected generative artworks released as unique iterations (numbered 1-10), in a limited collection by Kenny Vaden: “A Human in Times of Chaos.” This code created 130 random coordinates, which were bounded within the plot area and moved away from the closest neighbor within a particular radius over the course of 80 time intervals. Each particle's path was down sampled to ~30 parts, then interpolated into 60 segments, which tended to smooth their trajectories. Finally, a black disc was randomly drawn prior to rendering each time point for all 130 paths as rectangles filled with a black to blue gradient, determined by time point, and dark gray edges with random line widths. The results look highly structured and back-lit, in part because of the solid orange background. The image dimensions for this file are 13.33x20 inches and 300 DPI, which produced a file size below the 40 MB limit but provides a higher resolution (more detail) than the original version shown online.
