A mother waiting with her children to see the motocross event in Gholaghat, Assam - India.

This photograph is part of 'The curious bunch', a set of 30 1/1 photographs telling the story of curiosity in the life of the villagers from Gholaghat, Assam (Northeast India).

They toiled, loved and dreamt inside in a 9 square kilometre huge tea plantation throughout the summer, monsoon and winter, with not much left to save for next year.

In 2017 a motocross race was organized in the plantation in the day, clubbed with music shows at night, a three-day affair. A part of the plantation was cleared up and a temporary stadium was built with all kinds of entertainments, inside compound wall, and with an entry fee.

The villagers who built the stadium were not able to get in since they couldn't afford the entry ticket. None of them had ever seen anything like it and the roars of motorbikes took their curiosity to the sky. They lined along the wall to find gaps and heights to get a view inside the arena.

Their curiosity was more fascinating for me than the race.
