About the Artist:

Martin Fahlen

My education includes an MFA in Photography from the University of New Mexico. I have been honored to have some of my work included in the State of New Mexico public art collection, installed in both the State Capitol Building (Roundhouse), and at the University of New Mexico. More images are currently in the process of installation. My work is also included in the Bernalillo County, NM public art collection, the City of Albuquerque public art collection, and many others. My work is heavily influenced by my love of nature which began as a young boy growing up in Michigan. Much of my time was spent exploring wooded areas, lakes, and fields during all seasons. After relocating to New Mexico, a new and equally exciting landscape has become part of my experience. I was fortunate to discover the magic of photography many years ago. Its combination of science and art is unique among all artistic mediums. Photography, and experimenting with its endless possibilities, has been my overriding passion for much of my life. Images included in the Humanature series are made by combining two or more images. This work concerns the intimate human connection to the natural environment. While the natural world does not require humans; the reverse is not true.
