During the winter months, I wander throughout the Southwest Arizona deserts, rockhounding and buying rare stones from miners throughout the US. The landscape always humbles and amazes me. The cacti are so beautiful and painful at the same time. The colors add a little soft beauty to this particularly thorny specimen.

It's an odd hobby, but playing with rocks brings me such peace that I've turned it into a quasi-profession and art form. Lapidary artist and crystal dealer are my odd little side hustles and eventual "retirement" plan. For those of you who know me on Discord, this is where "DesertRat" comes from. Spending time in the desert reminds of just how transient our time on this planet can be and to witness Mother Nature in such a humbling and raw state always puts my place on this plane of existence into perspective.
