The Moon on the forehead is an ancient Iranian myth; Which is common in most parts of Iran with slight changes.

This myth is about a beautiful girl named Shahrbanoo. Malabaji, a schoolteacher, realizes that Shahrbanoo's father is a wealthy man and tries to take her mother's place. Shahrbanoo tricks Malabaji into throwing her mother in a vinegar jar. Malabaji, who has an ugly daughter, marries Shahrbanu's father and forces Shahrbanu to work hard.

One day, Malabaji opens the vinegar jar and a yellow cow comes out, which that cow is the mother of Shahrbanoo. Malabaji forces Shahrbanoo to take the cow to pasture every day. One day the wind blows a cotton into the well where a demon lived. Shahrbanoo’s mother, in the form of a cow, instructs her on how to get into the well and tells her that whatever the demon tells her, she must do the opposite. Shahrbanoo goes to the well and there, she turns her face into the river, as a result of which the role of the moon on his forehead and a star on his chin goes and multiplies his beauty, and from there it is called "Moon on the forehead".

Also in Iran, those who people think they have a good fait and destiny are called the moon on the forehead.

I made this piece at the beginning of 2021, because the zodiac symbol of 2021 was a cow (ox), I draw a moon for him instead of his horn. Because we hope that a beautiful year with a good fait awaits us.

Lithography is a method of printing originally based on the immiscibility of oil and water. The printing is from a stone or a metal plate with a smooth surface. It was invented in 1796 by the German author and actor Alois Senefelder, Iranian lithography was imported to Iran in 1845 by Abbas Mirza. Nowadays this art has become a forgotten style.

Iranian lithography is a folk art that I have combined pop art with.
