JAPE story
Likasi was offered for sale to Brazzaville Zoo who contacted the local Ministry, after which she was confiscated by Project Protection Gorilles, the first of six apes to be seized in North Congo. I photographed at her Les Amis des Bonobos du Congo, where she had become a playful member of her new family group and enjoyed practicing building nests on the ground.
