Rambo was confiscated by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry from a woman who had kept him like a human child, dressing him in clothes, brushing his teeth, etc. He was 4 years old on arrival at the sanctuary. Very active and strong, the keepers named him Rambo and he quickly became the dominant male of group. He wasn’t sure about me and gave me a good thump on my back just to let me know he was a lot stronger than me despite being only 6 years old.

Shot in the aesthetic of the passport photograph, each Jape has their own unique traits and characteristics, and powerful stories which can be found at ART3.io/japes. 10% of net funds raised through NFT sales will be donated to the sanctuaries who rescued the apes and invited James in with his camera, and initial collectors will receive an archive quality certificated print with their Jape.
