Autora: Estrella Caraballo.
We are living a moment of profound social transformation, affecting contemporary art. Up until the 21st century, visual creation was fundamentally led by male artists, while women were typically played a more passive role, acting as models or inspiring muses. With notable exceptions, photography has traditionally been a male-dominated discipline. However, in the context of new social values, women are gradually playing a more important part at social, economic, and political levels.
This collection aims to generate, display and disseminate visual materials that represent the work done by women photographers in the 21st century, the new themes and styles of creation associated with contemporary female creation.
