Artist: ZAM

I come from generations of obsessive collectors. I grew up looking at all kinds of antiques, collectibles, relics, artifacts, and ephemera - they surrounded me and imbued my creative world.

I often utilize my vast archives which have accumulated over 30+ years as an artist, professional designer and collector. I repurpose them, integrating bits and pieces into my digital collage works. So bringing that in the Crypto world, by definition my pieces are literally ‘Artifacts of the Metaverse’ because, bringing different worlds together is essentially the definition of that.

Before entering the Crypto Art space I’d previously had a long career in the physical Art world but a strong interest in tech and futurism, starting to design my oil paintings digitally in the late 1990s first before rendering them physically.

I’ve become best-known thus far for my Marlene Dietrich works using a still from the 1932 Western ‘Destry Rides Again.’ I started making them in 1988; and it wasn’t until a month into being an NFT Artist I uploaded an old work and watched it sell out quickly. Since then I’ve made many more, however, I never plan them; I just start, see what happens, and where it ends up. This piece with its theme of flowering plants and skeletal remains was inspired by museums, and their displays full of artifacts, objet, flora and fauna.
