The contextual works Asteria, co-created by Charles Zana and Thomas Paquet, were born from the desire to plunge the spectator into a meditative state, to place him in the long time of the perpetual dance of our stars and to propose a unique object with an infinite character. These luminous sculptures include a computer program which restores in real time, by a play of gradation of color, the position of the sun and the moon. At a time T and for a mythical place chosen by the artists, a series of calculations determines the position of our stars in order to assign them a color of the chromatic circle. This color, depending on the place and the time of day, appears on the screen in a gradient that evolves with the hours. Each place is represented by an exceptional material: Pompeii and lava, Amazonia and ipe wood, Luxor valley and alabaster......Asteria Lava, evocation to Pompeii, is the first work of this collection.
