The direction of life went wrong with the first microbit of information. The experience was inflated infinitely, projected into its own shadows. Those shadows, the victims of their own perception, are trapped in Twelve Chambers. With "My life is better than yours" consciousness and under artificial light, they are irretrievably petrified, casting the last shadows of life, stuck behind ancient keyholes.
