On March 16, 1996, Mike Tyson squared off against Frank Bruno at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada in a bout for the WBC Heavyweight Championship. Tyson pummeled Bruno for all three rounds of the fight before unleashing a devastating 13-punch combination that ultimately sent Bruno tumbling into the ropes during Round 3. With Bruno reeling and unable to continue, referee Mills Lane stopped the fight, awarding Mike the TKO victory and a reclamation of the WBC heavyweight world championship. After the victory, Mike celebrated his return to championship status with his camp, donning the WBC championship belt while being lifted into the air. Mike not only floated across the canvas that evening, but through the air as well in his triumphant celebration.
