A video portrait of Sophia, a social humanoid robot created by Hanson Robotics. Our project aimed to unpack the evolving concept of “humanity” in a world occupied with beings that can mimic human consciousness. This was explored via fashion and narrative concepts echoing psychological “self-awareness” tests. This was captured on location in Hong Kong using digital SLRs, video cameras and 3d scanners.
