The project "On Sentinels" contains a canary Rossin trained to sing dubstep that scores a virtual reality simulation of a body that flips through thousands of avatars. The work regards "Sentinel Species" in ecology - when we send an organism out in front of us as a warning sign (eg: canaries in coal mines). The swapping avatar bodies nod to the Proteus Effect - a phenomenon where our virtual selves project into and influence our "real" selves.
