About the artwork « "Princesse Grace" »: This elegant vertical portrait of Princess Grace of Monaco in silver, red, and blue is part of the “Grace Forever" Collection, curated in 2019 for the official celebrations of the 90th birthday in memorial of Princess Grace, at the request of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

About Marcos Marin: Born in Brazil in 1967, Marcos Marin is the son of a film producer and opera singer. He now lives and works in Monaco. From the age of five Marcos took classical piano lessons at the Sao Paulo Conservatory of Music. At a very young age, he started a career as a virtuoso pianist and went to study music in France. At the same time, he discovered a passion for painting. At the Cité des Arts in Paris in 1990, Marcos met Vasarely. Intrigued by the latter's work, Marcos Marin embarked on an adventure of optical art. He was successful and was awarded two accolades for his works of art: The Fiat prize for his work on Christopher Columbus celebrating the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America (Fiat Museum in Turin) and The Philips Collection prize for his creation on Mona Lisa (coll. Philips New York). During the 90s, Marcos Marin played an important role in the cultural development between Brazil and France for IAAP UNESCO. In 2000, he moved to Miami Beach, USA, where he set up his workshop. 2003 was the year of his first monument sculpture. It was on display at the Coconut Grove Convention Center on the occasion of the grand opening of the Arteamericas art fair. He won the "Best of Florida" competition. In 2004 at Art Basel, Marcos Marin met Delphine Pastor, and, seduced by his talent, invited him to come and exhibit in Monaco. The inauguration of the exhibition - which features a magnificent portrait of Princess Grace now displayed in the ‘Nouveau Musée National de Monaco’ - took place a few days after the death of Prince Rainier. Prince Albert then asked Marcos Marin to design the official monument dedicated to his father. This monument was unveiled on January 18, 2006, at the entrance to the Chapiteau de Fontvieille. In 2006, Marcos Marin met the stylist and patron, Pierre Cardin, who offered him the opportunity to create large-format works in Lacoste's studio. At the same time, Marcos Marin was working in Portugal with Stanley Ho for the fiftieth anniversary of the Estoril Casino. The owner presented Marcos Marin with two medals of honor: one, thanking him for the exhibition at the Casino Gallery and the other, for the Stanley Ho portrait taken in Macau. In 2009, the artist was invited to Japan as part of the Brazil-Japan collaboration, where he obtained recognition for the entirety of his work.

A propos de Marcos Marin : Marcos Marin, né au Brésil en 1967, est le fils d’un producteur de cinéma et d’une chanteuse lyrique. Il vit et travaille à Monaco. Dès l’âge de cinq ans Marcos suit des cours de piano classique au conservatoire de musique de Sao Paulo. Très jeune, il démarre une carrière de pianiste virtuose et part étudier la musique en France. En même temps, il se passionne pour la peinture. À la Cité des Arts à Paris en 1990, Marcos rencontre Vasarely. Intrigué par le travail de ce dernier, Marcos Marin se lance dans l’aventure de l’art optique. Avec succès, puisque deux prix viennent couronner ses œuvres : le prix Fiat pour son œuvre sur Christophe Colomb fêtant les 500 ans de la découverte de l’Amérique (Musée Fiat de Turin) et le prix Collection Philips pour celle sur Mona Lisa (coll. Philips New York). Durant cette décennie, Marcos Marin joue un rôle important dans le développement culturel entre le Brésil et la France pour l’AIAP UNESCO. En 2000, il emménage aux USA, à Miami Beach, où il installe son atelier. 2003 est l’année de sa première sculpture monumentale. Elle sera exposée à Coconut Grove Convention Center à l’occasion de l’inauguration de la grande foire d’art Arteamericas. Il gagnera le concours "Best of Florida". En 2004 à Art Basel, Marcos Marin fait la connaissance de Delphine Pastor, qui, séduite par son talent, l’invite à venir exposer à Monaco. L’inauguration de l’exposition –qui comporte un magnifique portrait de la Princesse Grace, aujourd’hui au nouveau musée de Monaco- a lieu quelques jours après la mort du Prince Rainier. Le Prince Albert demande alors à Marcos Marin de dessiner le monument officiel dédié à son père. Cette œuvre monumentale est dévoilée le 18 janvier 2006 à l’entrée du Chapiteau de Fontvielle. En 2006, Marcos Marin rencontre le styliste et mécène, Pierre Cardin, qui lui offre la possibilité de réaliser des œuvres de grand format dans l’atelier de Lacoste. Entretemps, Marcos Marin travaille au Portugal avec Stanley Ho dans le cadre du cinquantenaire du Casino d’Estoril. Le mécène offrira à l’artiste deux médailles d’honneur : l’une remerciant l’artiste pour l’exposition consacrée à la galerie du Casino et l’autre pour le portrait Stanley Ho réalisé à Macao. En 2009, invité au Japon dans le cadre de l’amitié Brésil-Japon, l’artiste obtient la reconnaissance pour l’ensemble de son œuvre.
