2022 r/place interactive art piece.
5:29PM PST | 4.3.22

Around 2020 I started spending more time on the internet. In search of gold I braved the firehose of shit. Lot’s and lot’s of shit later I found gold. Sure enough - allover the place. Im not a big fan of cyberspace but today thats where history is being written. Fascinating. I am a photographer so it’s my nature to document things. Running around cyberspace taking screenshots opened me to new horizons of photography. Not necessarily in a creative sense but more technically. What I mean is my “I wanna take a photograph” meter is the same but in cyberspace I snap with a keyboard instead of a camera. I’ve had some interesting captures along the way and my all-time favorites are from r/Place on Reddit. I had a nice little April Fools surprise this year and thats what this collection is all about. In 2017 Reddit hosted their first r/place event. I participated when they did it again in 2022. Essentially, r/place is a 1 Million-pixel digital canvas hosted by Reddit as an April Fools tradition where users can view the canvas in real time and interact with it by selecting from 16 colors to change 1 pixel every 5 minutes. Millions of users tune in and the whole thing is live for 72 hours. Incredible images emerge as people and bots work together, and sometimes apart. There are battles over entire portions of the canvas lol. I love how dynamic yet fickle it is. Not everything that appears on the canvas makes it to the end. Thats why I created this collection of 88 of my favorite sightings.

For personal, non-commercial use only.

Hi! Welcome to my photography collection. You are viewing my ERC-721 contract where I mint 1 of 1 tokens. I use NFT's as a means of releasing collectible editions of my work. There is no team - just me looking for creative ways to get my photos out there for the enjoyment and collection of others, all while trying to shape the paradigm of what it means to be an artist in a blockchain-centric future. I hope you enjoy! Check out my Discord if you want to know more. 👾
