A collaboration between Kitty Bast and Caroline Dy (Draw write play) The 2nd 'Tattoo Artist' collab. Kitty provides the 'lady as canvas'. Caroline becomes the 'Tattoo Artist' through her Art style. The meaning goes so much deeper than the dermis. It is the exploration of the identity. The marks on the 'body as canvas' that may construct the whole. Caroline: "I've always wanted to do a Yakuza inspired painting, and KittyBast provided me with the perfect base. I'm a big fan of the Yakuza game series and Japanese culture, and I was fascinated with the idea of the tattoos being integral to the character's story. I chose a phoenix and koi to kind of represent fire and water elements, with clouds for air and flowers for earth so that the four major elements are represented. I wanted the character to be equally beautiful and powerful."
