The last upgrade.
The Vether community weathered one last storm on June 30, 2020. One day after version 3's release, the Uniswap price of Vether crashed to near zero.
Someone anonymous had found one last exploit, enabling them to take all the Vether remaining in the contract (over 900,000 VETH). They used this to drain the entire Uniswap pool, causing a small ripple in the Crypto Twittersphere. Crypto voices such as Hayden Adams and DegenSpartan tweeted about the event. In total, contrary to popular exaggerated opinions, ~15 ETH was taken.
Strictly-Scarce took responsibility and reimbursed all liquidity pool providers. He also offered up to 15 ETH reimbursement to anyone who could prove they had burned for Vether that day. After the dust settled, the community settled on an airdrop, avoiding any additional upgrade contracts.
On July 2, 2020, the last contract was deployed which continues to this day.
