In the land of the free we commit more state sanctioned murder than one would think. Often, the people we kill are innocent of the crime. The stats include the annualized death rate for Florida govenors, who seem to be in competition for how many people they can kill during their tenure. No one wants to be soft on crime, so instead we short-change our humanity.
