This is a token of a Toronto Tiny Shelter.

A Toronto Tiny Shelter is a structure designed and built by Khaleel Seivwright and an amazing team of volunteers beginning in Late September of 2020. The shelter is a temporary solution for people that had to live outside in Toronto in the winter of 2020/2021. With emergency shelters being at or near capacity day to day and the COVID-19 pandemic restricting places for people to go inside and stay warm these tiny shelters became a necessary resource to protect lives. 100 of these shelters have been built and distributed for individuals that needed them to survive over the course of the winter. With the small size of each structure and the high insulation value of the floor, walls and ceiling, the occupants body heat serves as the main source of warmth. Each shelter was built with 4 caster wheels to make them portable, locking mechanisms inside and outside for security and a smoke/CO detector.

This token has been minted by Khaleel Seivwright for the purpose of raising funds to directly house individuals that have had to live in these tiny shelters and in tents around Toronto. By purchasing this token you will be directly contributing to housing many people that have fallen through the cracks of Toronto's social housing system.
