What is going on here?

This circle of hell is a vast realm made out of mountains of fine powdered salt. The ones who reside here, have their skin flayed. Walking, falling, lying down trying to rest, even standing still... inflicts an unimaginable amount of pain, as the salt in contact with the uncovered muscle tissue is beyond any scale of pain. Because of salt's gritty, rough texture, the rubbing of it would cause the flesh to tear, furthering the agony. They do not need sleep and never get hungry or thirsty.

This circle of hell is the only circle that has a border with another circle of hell, in other words we could say that it has a small opening to the 8th circle of hell of Fraud.

In this artwork, we can see exactly what is happening at the border of these two circles, mostly representing the seventh circle. As spending an eternity in this realm, having a flayed skin and constantly feeling a great amount of pain, anyone here would always search for just a bit of relief or an escape to anywhere but this.

Some of them, find this border, and as we can see they try to pass it. There are so-called guardians, which we can see in the artwork as flying salt shakers with wings. These 'guardians' are pouring salt on the ones trying to escape and pass this border into next circle of hell. These salt shakers are doing a fine job, as we can see those trying to pass, are quickly being buried in salt 'raining' on them.

Meanwhile it seems that on the same path there is a leakage of lava, coming from the next circle of hell where it also seems that it carries a fiery atmosphere. Despite these obstacles, a small percentage do manage to successfully pass and enter into the next circle of hell. However, nobody from the other circle of hell (8th) considered on coming down to this 7th circle, and everyone from this 7th circle assume it must be better out there so they keep trying to pass. In the seventh circle of Kozachok's Inferno, we find the realm of Violence. A life spent by inducing violence to the self or upon others, will result in a painful endless agony for those who end up in this circle, constantly reminding them the pain they chose to inflict in every day. "Kozachok's Inferno" is a personal version, a customized representation of the 9 circles of hell, influenced by Dante's Inferno, the first part of Dante's Divine Comedy, which is a long Italian narrative poem by Dante Alighieri, begun c. 1308 and completed in 1320, a year before his death in 1321.

It is not a direct reproduction of Dante's Inferno, I do not follow the accuracy of those layers or circles of hell, except the main theme (eg circle of Lust, of Gluttony, of Greed etc), but the reasons and punishments of each circle of hell will be different in my version.
