This photographic work reimagines the Yoruba Orisha, Ọya-Ìyáńsàn-án, as a young, contemporary liberator. Recognized as the deity of winds and storms, Ọya carries a tenacious spirit and powerful presence illustrated in her ability to rule weather and act as guardian of her peoples. Within this piece, my aim was to personify Ọya's distinct, commanding nature as well as highlight her ability to remain strong and poised in the midst of chaos.
