ELLE’s work is evocative, alluring, lavish, outrageous, purposeful and informative. ELLE is considered to be one of the top touring street artists in the world. ELLE’s mural graffiti art portrays her main passions for feminism and protecting the environment. The elements in her pieces are pure visual poetry; powerful females, flowers, animals and classical elements juxtaposed with pop-culture and high fashion imagery, revealing purposefully designed messages to the world. ELLE uses every facet of street art to put her mark on the cities she’s travelled to. In 2022 ELLE is excited to have entered into the NFT space, exhibited alongside Keith Haring and Basquiat inside KunstLinie Museum in Almere Netherlands.
THE GODDESS
ELLE’s 2,900 square foot semi-circular mural painting was commissioned as part of its HYxOffTheWall initiative to reinvigorate Hudson Yards during the Covid pandemic in New York. The aim of ELLE's painting was to highlight the heart and soul of New York. She wanted to empower and show love to her city, who had been through so much. ELLE explained that all the figures are “looking forward” and “to a brighter future.” She specifically painted women, and to portray them “in a strong way.” She said, “The imagery isn’t meant to represent any single woman, but rather all of them, because women are most powerful together. That said, my work isn’t only about all women coming together; it’s about what comes together in all women: creation, life, beauty.”
This mural has been split into two different NFT pieces of digital animated art. “The Goddess” represents daytime, the sky and lightness, and emanates vibrancy, hope and diversity: the things that make New York strong and resilient.
ELLE’s collection is being displayed as part of the STREET ART ALIVE experience at THE LUME Los Angeles.
