I feel most connected to my art when I am under underneath this pier at Catherine Hill Bay. This is the location I honed my craft and practiced Milky Way Landscapes when I first began in 2013.

I loved the leading lines of the colossal structure and each night was different with the changing tides. When the tides were high, you could not go underneath the pier and I would shoot from a distance on the rock shelf. To have the perfect tide and weather conditions were rare but I was happy shooting from the diverse perspectives this pier offers.

One night without checking the tides I arrived at Catherine Hill Bay to discover it was a very low tide. This allowed me access underneath the pier for unique angles to capture. Using an ultra wide angle lens positioned myself close to a pillar to bring the pier and Milky Way close together for this composition.

I wanted to showcase the great length and size of both the Milky Way and pier in one photograph connecting both the landscape and stars.

A 16 piece collection by multi-award winning Milky Way Landscape Photographer David Magro

In Sight of Stars showcases significant pieces displaying both artistic and technical skills. Each image captures a moment in time the universe aligned with the landscape reflecting astounding beauty. Surreal scenes become revealed showing the hidden detail in the dark with long exposure photography the naked eye cannot see.

This release will guide you through an 8 year journey photographing the Milky Way in serene locations. Long nights were spent travelling to remote and meaningful landscapes to showcase the night sky in a beautiful light.

I present 16 minted 1/1 photographs and time-lapses showcasing the Milky Way
