This waterfall generally has a little water trickling down with a small stream reaching the bottom. During 2019, Australia didn't receive much rain with drought and fires mostly across the continent. I have been waiting a few years to capture this waterfall under the stars waiting for the conditions to align.

After some much needed rain in mid 2020, the waterfall was flowing again showcasing it's natural beauty. The water was shooting off the edge roaring into the valley below. Waiting a few weeks later, the water level subsided enabling me to shoot from below avoiding any water spray on the lens.

I arrived just before sunset hiking from the top. I had became familiar with this location after other night shooting here previously. The tranquil sound of the waterfall is peaceful and is soothing to sit back and enjoy. I enjoy the serene ambience waterfalls offer and they are my favourite subject to spend a night underneath.

As the night transitioned from dusk you could slowly see the Milky Way stars emerge against the backdrop of the waterfall as night fell. Waterfalls and stars combined produce dreamlike images to enjoy and gaze into. They have a calming effect on me with the flowing water and night sky above.
