Atoms and Automatons was written as a meditation on the infinite nature of time and the finite existence of human consciousness. I find it astounding that in the infinite cosmos something as small as an atom can cause the warping of space and time. This song was written during an especially difficult time for me and was written as a means to cope with my own existential anguish.
