I started this one in 2010. I was inspired by my first trips to Costa Rica and Hawaii as well as some of the sunrise and sunset surf sessions at my home breaks in NJ.
I saw all the glimmering light bouncing off the water in my mind and popped open Photoshop and grabbed my drawing tablet to document it before it slipped my mind.
My fine art career in it's current form at least was only a few years old at the time. This really captures a moment in time.
I just found this one recently. It was still rough and so I threw down some finishing details on it in 2021.

Alders has been featured on CBS, NBC, Fox as well as in the pages of Penthouse. His work has been exhibited at the X-Games, music festivals and showcased throughout the United States, South America, Australia and Europe. in 2010, Alders was named, "Surf Artist of the Decade".
Six album covers have Jay's art including two for the band Slightly Stoopid and is regularly seen live painting on stage with rock stars.
