NFTs have brought exciting opportunities to the world of fiction, and as soon as I learned of their existence, I knew I had to jump in.

A re-purposing of my 2017 novel World of Zombies is step one in my plan to embrace tokens in a big way. Furthermore, as a mildly successful post-apocalyptic indie author who writes about liberty and the inevitable collapse of governments, decentralized cryptocurrencies fit perfectly inside my storytelling wheelhouse. Learning about all the possibilities has expanded my horizons in ways I never would have imagined six months ago. Future books will benefit from this knowledge.

The flashy deliverable is the signature edition cover for the NFT novel. I hope it looks good in whatever in-game world it ends up. The high-res version is included in the unlockable content.

Unlockable Content

But this isn’t just another novel crammed into a text box. That’s old school thinking. This is YOUR novel. Unlockable content allows me to customize a version of the story with names of the main characters changed to those you provide. I’ll then send you an e-reader version of the story with those names, so you can show it off to friends and family. Your worst enemy can be the bad guy!

I will also include the unaltered novel in digital format (~33,000 words or about 135 pages).

Special Bonus for Original Buyer

If you are in the small group of original buyers, I will also send a signed copy of the physical print version of the book. Second, third, etc., buyers won’t get this special bonus, mainly because this NFT lives forever, and I can’t be shipping out copies of books until the sun goes supernova. The first buyer is the only one I can 99.999% guarantee a drive to the post office so I can deliver the book.

I will release all my novels (currently about 30) as NFTs soon, to create a nice collection of my back catalogue on the blockchain. Five of them will be AUTHOR HELP editions, which are special versions designed to help my fellow aspiring authors. The others will all be for superfans and lovers of cool artwork, which I believe is what you'll find on all my covers. 15 of those are already done.

Despite all the complexity and pitfalls, it is amazing to be a part of this new technology.
