Ethereal Waves collection image

Originally launched in the summer of 2021, Ethereal Waves is a set of 402 unique, procedurally generated art works leveraging the Ethereum source code; rendered at 4000 x 4000 px.

Each piece consists of a set of 25 individual tiles, arranged in a 5 x 5 grid, which form a windowed view to a generated noise graph (combined with a unique colour palette).

The noise graph itself is a parameterised, and rotational, Perlin Noise brush.

Every piece has an ID (#0000) which is parsed into a custom function which extracts a subset of code from the Ethereum source code. From here, this subset is processed into a Hash() function and its result is leveraged to drive the noise parameters of the brush (rotation, noise, amplitude, seed, blend, detail, diameter).

Whilst seemingly random, the decisions of Ethereum source code developers live on in these uniquely generated, procedurally created works.
