Process: I put a small pile of the white crystals on a 3"x1" glass microscope slide. I held a lighter underneath for a moment, until the crystals melted, then quickly transferred the slide to a microscope stage with attached camera already rolling to capture the rapidly re-crystallization. As the hot liquid cools, thin crystal spears extend in straight-line geometries, like a miniature abstract stained glass window.
