#1000019 This one was sketched in pencil onto a marble panel birch board at the Santa Monica Library in Santa Monica, California, around the year 2011. I had taken a "vacation" out from my mother's place; I packed up my things into my car and left home for a while thinking I'd just like to see L.A. and the coast for a while. I had a full tank of gas, art supplies, my twelve-string guitar, and $18 dollars in my pocket. I drew all sorts of musicians onto my marble panels while visiting the libraries at Santa Monica, Venice Beach, and Marina Del Rey. This one is among the most popular of the images I drew during that time. People in downtown Santa Monica and Venice made a bit of fun of me, while I was busking, singing and playing my 12 string guitar, because I was looking at my tablature binder while I was playing. The truth is, I was always more of a singer than a guitar player, and during my artistic journey, I sort of had to choose between being good at art, versus being good at guitar. I had the time of my life out there, I stayed there for 2 months, sleeping in my car, and creating art. I hope you enjoy this image! Cheers!
