The day I did this piece I had to do something that broke my soul, and that was to take my dad to a nursing home.

Leaving and telling him it would only be a few days was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.

I did this work in the place that until today was his room and I painted him as a little boy because that's how he is now, today I tied his shoelaces because he didn't know how to do it on his own.

Sometimes he forgets my name and I know that at some point he will forget who I am, just as when he walks he forgets the previous steps he takes, but I hope that although in his head more and more pieces are missing in his comings and goings, in his heart there will always be his little girl.
