Daniel Ellsberg is a former American Military Analyst and activist, known for releasing the Pentagon Papers: a damning look on US involvement and decision making during the Vietnam War. With the release of the documents, it was clear that the Johnson administration lied to both Congress and the general public.  Charges against Ellsberg from the US Government were eventually dropped. As time went on, he increasingly supported various anti-war and anti-interventionist policies especially in the Middle East. He is also a vocal supporter of whistleblowers like Julian Assange.
