Every Breathe I Take Originally a painted work using acrylic, ink, oil, and distemper on a 4 x 6 feet canvas, exhibited at Manilart2016 at SMX Aura, BGC, Taguig Manila on October 2016 in the Philippines' biggest art fair. This work was the retained and not sold by the artist Gromyko Semper, kept in a storage for his private collection. This work represents the artist's prophetic vision of what the world would be if we neglect and continue to ignore the global changes that mankind itself have caused. The extinction of many plant and animal life, the pollution caused by our continuous use of fossil fuels and non renewable energy resources, our capitalist greed and technological advancements that shrug off any detrimental effect it may cause to the environment and many other factors led to a dystopian world where Air is as precious as Gold. In this Image, man is left with no choice but to breathe the oxygen produced by a Stapelia gigantea, famous for its rotten smelling flowers. Every single breathe the man takes, the rotteness and stink of his misdemeanor serves to remind him of the crueltt of his wrong doing, a reminder for us to value the Blessings given to us, before it is too late!
Once sold as an NFT, the artist will burn the original painting so that the only remaining original and authentic "flesh" and "spirit" of the work is the digital self that is unique and the only one in existence. A video of the burning will be sent by the Artist to the winning bidder with assurance of its value.
The Garden of Fernal Delights is a sublime and paradisiacal place where all the delights of the natural world from the sexual to the surreal, the visionary to the instinctive, are celebrated as fundamental joys of being alive. The Garden of Fernal Delights is a multi-dimensional place where all is conscious and divinely intelligent from the animal to mineral to vegetable to the aetheric. All can communicate, co-create, cooperate. This Garden of Delights knows no violence, no notion of original sin, no hierarchy, no fixed temporal system. Rather it is a place of magic, of play and playfulness. It resides in the Garden of the heart and has no limit to its creativity. The Fernal concept was conceived by artist Gromyko Semper and then developed together with artists Liba WS, Bruce Rimmell and a community of lowbrow, visionary, surrealist, magic realists and fantastic artists.
