Homeboys were a different kind of punks. They walked the streets of Dalston and slept all over Hackney, mainly under the park benches, to get some cover from the rain and other elements.

These punks had been a thorn in the side of many frustrated council officials looking to clean up Dalston. Homeboys were not like their sisters, who work West End streets and live closer to the Queen; these were low-level anarchists who didn't seem to know the Lord almighty.

The group was fully decentralized. Punks couldn't remember how they became part of the gang or why they were drawn to anarchism. But they could sense when another homeboy was in danger and quickly react to save their buddy from trouble. This strange magnetism worked even if they had never met before. If the rescue operation was successful, Homeboys would smear the blood and dirt across their faces and continue their merry ways.
