This is the second of a series of 3 NFTs which demonstrates the transformative power of a loving heart in changing how our faces are perceived by others — through compassion.
Her first collection “Science of Beauty, Art of Expression” is a collaboration with Mr. Rolzay, based on her research paper “On thoughts, emotions, facial expressions and aging,” published in the International Journal of Dermatology in February 2021.
As a credible voice in the world of beauty, model turned dermatologist Dr. Teo Wan Lin explores the science and art of facial aesthetics with this series.

Emotions of anger and sadness cause repetitive frowning and brow furrowing. Facial expressions are so closely intertwined with your emotions that botox injections (which paralyze facial muscles) have been shown to improve symptoms of depression.
Facial expressions can communicate socially attractive traits of affiliation and altruism—kindness and compassion, which based on psychological research, are traits considered universally attractive.
Your emotions will affect others’ perception of you. Over time, quite literally, your feelings will leave their mark on your skin.

Dr. Teo Wan Lin is a model turned board-certified dermatologist practising in Singapore who has authored more than 10 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Her artwork tells a modern tale of beauty-a synergy of science with the aesthetic experience defined as beauty.
As a former national team fencer for Singapore, Wan Lin competed at the World Cup Epee level and trained with olympic coaches before retiring from the sport in 2012.
“Fencing, the oldest Olympic sport, is both an art and science. The highest artistic endeavours are measured by both technique and spontaneity, also the ability to transcend time and space. The science of fencing is the execution of the final touché, perfected by muscle memory. The art of fencing is a dance with an opponent in a surreal world of time and distance that exists only in your mind’s eye.”
