"Mondrian to Levine to Bagley to Me to You"

On October 3rd I was again spending a lot of time looking at Joshua Bagley's Art Blocks Curated project "Dreams," and really loving them. I love the variety in the collection and the way they are not shy about being digital. I bid on about a dozen that I really liked, and later in the day was trying to make something inspired by them. I started by making a sort of pixelated bumpy layer cake of the colors, if you will, and then just starting going crazy with that as my base unit. I had several results that I liked but just didn't have quite enough chaos or intricacy; they were either too uniform or too gradual, the composition didn't lead the eye around the piece enough. I'm very happy with this one that I made today.

The colors for this piece, like those of Day 109, come from "After Mondrian" by Sherrie Levine. You can check out the description for Day 109 to read more about "After Mondrian."

Abstract of the Day collection image

I love making abstract watercolor paintings. I just got a nice tablet and am learning to create digital art with it. I will be, to the best of my ability, making and minting one piece a day. This was inspired by Beeple's "Everydays" which he has kept up for over 5000 days in a row.
