Earth 5000 depicts a near-future charity road race to benefit the fight against climate change. The artwork focuses on the few years when a popular idea attracts top celebrity endorsement and participation before widespread government involvement becomes inevitable. The artist was interested in the results of using pre-installed software on a popular computer (Mac), i.e., simple by design. The use of famous people, especially Beeple and Elon Musk, and cryptocurrency logos is a sly nod to other artists using the same for marketing reasons. Not intended as a collector piece (hmm, whoops), these posters would be plastered by the thousands on roadway fences and overpasses along the racecourse.

Climate Change and Hot Wheels series origin story: This is the first in two series (unknown quantity) focusing on climate change and/or using Hot Wheels-brand toy cars.


The artist: Freaklion is a digital artist/diorama maker who focuses on science fiction, alternate history, and future events. He also likes to explore color and fonts. Freaklion writes a newsletter about #NFTart and the industry at thewallflower.substack.com.
